Therapy should feel therapeutic
I work primarily with older teens and adults who are dealing with anxiety, depression, stress, burnout, grief and loss, life transitions, trauma, or simply feeling overwhelmed or stuck. I especially enjoy working with people who feel like they’ve lost themselves, don’t know where to start, or are struggling to believe things can get better. I also enjoy working with professionals who may seem successful and high-functioning on the outside while feeling stressed, disconnected, or less content on the inside.
I believe therapy should feel therapeutic. My style is conversational, relaxed, and often lighthearted. I want therapy to be a place where you can slow down, be yourself, and feel genuinely heard—not labeled, analyzed, or pressured into talking about things before you’re ready. Clarity, hope, and resilience are central to my approach. I believe people have an innate capacity for well-being, wisdom, and resilience that can become harder to see when life—and our minds—get crowded. As things become clearer, people often begin to see new possibilities and reconnect with a sense of hope.
I earned both my BSW and MSW from the University of Alabama and have spent much of my career working with people who have experienced adversity, trauma, loss, foster care, adoption, and addiction. One of the most meaningful parts of this work is helping people recognize that what has happened to them does not have to define who they are or what their future can be. Outside of work, family is very important to me. I enjoy traveling, soccer, staying active, good coffee and espresso, and spending time with people I care about—and I’m probably a little bougie about my exercise, sauna, and cold-plunge routines.
